Gua sha

How are you going to get rid of these knots ? ? ?

One of the most powerful tools I use to release knots is gua sha. It works similar to massage.

However, I can get deeper by "SCRAPING" away the tension/knots. Because the DENSITY of the stainless steel gua sha tool is harder than the knot itself, the resistance given back will be greater.

Resulting in relaxed, soften tissues that can be freely mobile & pain-free.

So the question is, have you tried gua sha ? ? ?

Drop piece

What is it?

A platform device used to restore motion in a stuck joint, either spine or elsewhere, in a controlled safe manner.

How is it done?

The table will drop slightly and you will hear a "popping" noise, made from the table, when the technique is performed over a joint.

Why use this?

I often use the drop piece on the pelvis or hips to level out leg length differences as it may be a factor contributing to scoliosis and muscle/joint differences.

I prefer this technique for elderly clients whose joints can't be adjusted due to "wear and tear"/degeneration. I also use it for acute clients & those who prefer this technique over chiropractic adjustments.

Many of my clients say it is more gentle and not as scary in comparison to chiropractic adjustments.

Mobilise × Passive stretch × Traction

Constant jumping, poor running technique and incorrect footwear are some examples that can create Achilles tendinopathy.

Felt as a tight calf that travels sometimes to the under sole of the foot (planta-fascia) and complicated by constant ankle plantaflexion, it can cause a domino effect up the chain of the lower leg.

This will cause compensations, affecting the feet, knees, and hips, and later to low back pain if left unattended.

Good thing with this client, we found the root cause before it progressed to affecting more areas of the body.

● Tight inner groin muscles
○ Prolonged sitting
● Tight hip flexors

The belt is a powerful tool used to increase mobility. We are opening up the hip joint using a belt to decompress the ball within the socket hip joint.

Clients feel looser in the hip, diminished pinching sensation, and feel they can squat deeper.

Also, it is a great alternative to an adjustment for the hip.
